Twan replied, “Respect.” He then immediately walked away to the kitchen.
Ghost was amazed at the loyalty he saw Twan had to this man, but he was even more amazed at the respect the man gave to Twan, who was his flunky more or less. Obviously his man treated others as equals instead of being a boss over the underlings.
Ghost leaned forward. “Twan tells us that you may have a problem that you need us for to take care of.”
He sat silently for a second looking at the four young men in front of him. “Yes, that is true. Money is money. I don’t care about the money. I only want to read about this man floating in a river somewhere.” Panama Blue looked directly at Ghost as he pulled a picture from his breast pocket. “This is the man right here.” Ghost got up and retrieved the photograph from Panama Blue. Once Ghost was seated, he looked at the photo then passed it to his crew.
“His name is Onrico Sanchez. It’s written on the back of the picture,” Panama Blue stated.
At that moment, Twan came back into the living room area holding a tray with two hands. An older woman of a foreign decent stood next to him holding an ashtray which she handed to Panama Blue. They stopped the conversation due to the interruption, and they watched as Marcia poured six glasses of very sweet iced tea from a glass pitcher. She handed a glass to each one of them then left the room.
“So what exactly are you asking of us?” Ghost asked as he received the picture from Nuga, who was now sipping on his iced tea.
Panama Blue lit his cigar. “I want it to look like a robbery gone bad or maybe a drug deal gone bad.”
Ghost thought about the two kilos of cocaine that he had from the last lick. He leaned back on the couch, crossed his feet at the ankles and looked Panama Blue directly in the eyes.
“We can make it look like a drug deal, but how much money are we talking?” Ghost questioned.
Panama Blue sat his glass into a cup holder on his chair. “I’ll pay you guys fifty-thousand a piece plus keep whatever money he has in the house. He had two million dollars of my money. If you find it, you get half of that as well, but I want to read about him in the newspaper.
Twan stood in silence watching Ghost and his crew as they each sat there thinking about the job and the money. Panama Blue had his cigar in his hand. He exhaled a big cloud of smoke into the air. IN circled around the room giving the room a smoky hue.
After weighing their options, Ghost looked at each one of his crew members, and they all nodded their heads in approval. Ghost gave Panama Blue the answer that he knew would be yes since he first laid eyes on the four young men.
“Mr. Blue, can
